Indian/Asian/Caribbean/American at the Margins: Indo-Caribbean History, Belonging & Identity in NYC

  • South Queens Women's March 130-01 Liberty Avenue Queens, New York, 11419 United States (map)

Join the Caribbean Equality Project for our public launch of New York City’s first Indo-Caribbean-centered curriculum.

The Caribbean Equality Project is proud to have developed this ten-lesson unit, “Indian/Asian/Caribbean/American at the Margins,” written by Dr. Ryan Persadie, which introduces students in Grades 6–12 to Indo-Caribbean history, identity, and belonging in NYC. The curriculum explores how these identities are shaped, challenged, and redefined by migration and lived experience. The workshop includes a 30-minute presentation and training for educators, students, community leaders, and service providers on using the curriculum across learning spaces.
